DX Group (DX), the UK’s leading independent mail and courier company is the latest business to join the growing list of tenants at Robert Hitchins’ Central Park, Bridgend. The company has consolidated two of its sites at Swansea and Penarth and transferred most of the staff to Bridgend, where it has opened a 6,500 sq ft secure Mail Service Centre as part of an expansion of its operations.
Mike Stone, Chief Operating Officer at DX, said that the site would act as a satellite location for one of its main sites in Avonmouth. “The new premises in Bridgend are being used by two parts of our operation, including our most secure operations as a Mail Service Centre or sorting office. It will act as a satellite service specifically to serve customers in South Wales.”
Jeremy Symons of Cooke & Arkwright, joint agents on the letting said, “As with many of the other tenants that have chosen Central Park for their accommodation, DX was attracted by the high quality environment the facilities offer, as well as being a better location for them in terms of transport links.”
Mr Stone confirmed that the location would help them to become more efficient. “Based here, we have to run fewer miles to complete our mail routes, allowing us to improve our service offering. We are also able to provide better working conditions for staff.”
DX joins other local businesses and national companies who have located to Central Park during the past 12 months, including Daydream Education, WCTS, BSS Group, EBtek Limited, Cooke & Arkwright, Biotec Distribution Wales Ltd, Stadium Financial Investments Ltd and Kimball Electronics (Wales) Ltd.
DX has other operations in Wales, near Rhyl and in Deeside. It is a key competitor to the Royal Mail for the provision of end-to-end postal services for business mail, delivering approximately one million items every day. It is the UK’s second largest delivery service covering 99.7% of the UK’s business and residential addresses.
