The RICS South Wales matrics committee team took part in the Anthony Nolan Trust Dragon Boat Race in Atlantic Wharf on Sunday, 6th June 2010. The team was sponsored by Cooke & Arkwright and came in at a very respectable fifth out of the 17 teams that competed.
Staff from Cooke & Arkwright, Gerald Eve, Fletcher Morgan, Davies Langdon, Malcolm Hollis and the Valuation Office made up the sixteen strong team, who’s best time was 1 minute, 10 seconds and 48 milliseconds.
The Dragon Boat Race raises money for the 16,000+ adults and children in this country who have leukaemia and related diseases, and need bone marrow donors. The event on Sunday was well attended and raised just under £21,000 overall.
Staff from Cooke & Arkwright on the team were: Amy Thomas, Alex Kalebic, Tim Lawley, Kate Simpson, Heather Lawrence, Huw Jones, Ryan Pratt, Ada Asquith and Wendy Asquith, plus Tim Lawley’s brother, Jonathan. They were joined by Jessica Burge and Jonathan Henman of Gerald Eve; Anja Senger, Fletcher Morgan; Jonathan Davies, Davies Langdon; Matt Williams, Malcolm Hollis; and Matt Seaward of the Valuation Office.
