City centre landmark on market

One of Cardiff’s best known city centre landmark buildings and popular former hostelry which closed last October has been put on the market, presenting a prime commercial opportunity. The Grade II-listed former South Glamorgan Staff Club, which is situated directly opposite the main entrance to the Millennium Stadium, was sold at auction in February to a private client advised by chartered surveyors Cooke & Arkwright.

Castle views for wedding belles

The Cardiff branch of Pronuptia has relocated to a prominent city centre location directly opposite Cardiff Castle. The 2,000 sq ft store includes a 1,500 sq ft showroom on the first floor and unveils a completely new look and style as well as offering a new, fully personalised service. The layout was designed by Pronuptia UK chairman Jim Mumford and is the first in the UK to incorporate Pronuptia’s new French concept.

Wales Air Ambulance has opened a new charitable shop in Abergavenny acquired by Cooke & Arkwright, as part of its strategic network expansion in support of the service. Rugby legend, Gareth Edwards CBE, performed the official opening and said he was happy to help. “Wales Air Ambulance is a critical and necessary facility that we are fortunate to have. It can make the difference between life and death,” he said.

Greggs continues core growth

Welsh entrepreneur expands to Newport

Coffee#1 has opened a new outlet in Commercial Street, Newport, reinforcing the pledge of the chain’s owner, James Shapland, to open 20 new premises throughout South Wales and the South West within the next five years. This is the fifth in its chain so far and the first in Newport. A new shop in Abergavenny is also to be opened before Christmas.
